Actions

You can learn a lot about a culture by kicking back in a pub or bar. From simply tasting local spirits and cuisine to getting a good dose of history from the fellow next to you—these joints are enjoyable classrooms.

Some bars provide live music and entertainment. Others offer food in addition to libations, as well as “virgin” versions of cocktails for the little ones, if visiting for a family lunch or early dinner. Some bars’ local scenes are fine-tuned and can range from upscale to kitschy. Regardless of the different personalities among establishments, visitors are usually always welcome, even if you just want to relax with your drink and read a book.
