Native Californian Debbie K. Hardin has been an editor and writer for more than 20 years. She lived in Washington, D.C. for 10 years—at which time she worked as a writer and editor in the White House. Debbie currently lives with her husband and daughter in north San Diego County. Together the family travels extensively for fun and for work, and especially loves road trips to national parks, cruises through Mexico and the Caribbean and visits to Europe.
Debbie has recently authored two travel books: Great Destinations: San Diego and Tijuana (2008, Countryman Press) and Great Destinations: Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia (with Nathan Borchelt; 2008, Countryman Press). In addition, she has published a book on international travel and cooking; more than 100 book chapters on travel, history, art and politics in a dozen anthologies; and numerous reviews of travel, books, films and restaurants, in local and national newspapers and magazines. She is also pleased to be TravelMuse’s expert on family travel in Anaheim, San Diego and Yosemite.
