Lana’i, an island of Hawaii, is best known for its relaxing atmosphere and luscious landscape. Once known as the “island of pineapples,” Lana’i preserves much of its natural beauty, as evident in attractions like Manele Bay, a marine life conservation area.
Pick from two championship golf courses: the Challenge at Manele and the Experience at Koele. Take a hike up to Munro Trail, a nice perch for views of five other islands, including the Big Island, and the Hulopoe Bay, where Spinner dolphins play regularly. Visit Keahiakawelo, the “Garden of the Gods,” a world of rocks with an interesting history. The rock towers left behind are credited to island priests who once competed to keep fire burning longer than the other.
