Seneca Falls, a village in northern New York, is considered the birthplace of the Women’s Rights Movement (and location of the Seneca Falls convention) and played a major role in the abolitionist movement. Once an area dependent on water power, distilleries and other factories for its economy, the Finger Lakes Region continues to celebrate the power of drinks through its many wine trails; it also pays homage to its history through the Seneca Falls Heritage Area’s visitor center, the Elizabeth Cady Stanton House and other institutions.
