Tucked into a private beach, Paraiso de la Bonita Resort is an intimate, adults-only resort nestled in 14 acres of landscaped gardens and lush mangrove. The architecture captures the essence of Mayan culture with open courtyards, fountain-adorned pathways, and reflecting pools. This Riviera Mayan luxury resort offers fine dining in a variety of restaurants, a 24,000-square-foot luxury spa, and a 48-foot luxury catamaran. Paraiso de la Bonita's 90 suites, with their manoseado plastered walls, decorative ironwork, and colonial archways, recall the architecture of the great Mexican haciendas in the Yucatan Peninsula. Each Suite is individually created with unique antiques and accessories collected from around the world to reflect Caribbean, Mediterranean, Indian, African, Balinese, and Asian styles. Suites feature a living room with cedar-beamed ceilings, overhead fans, cool unpolished marble flooring, and an adjoining bedroom. The en-suite bathrooms feature deep marble soaking tubs, separate showers, and handcrafted sinks. Each suite has large glass doors opening on to a private outdoor terrace facing the ocean offering either magnificent views of the tropical gardens or sweeping views or the Caribbean Sea. Thirty-six of the suites are on the garden level and enjoy a small plunge pool. Upper suites have a terrace complimented with either a sun lounger or a hammock. All suites are minimum 1100 square feet and feature fully-stocked bars, Internet access, two TVs, DVD players, Bulgari amenities, air-conditioning, and ceiling fans.
