Love art? And I mean, really love it. Love discovering new artists and feeling the vibe of a vibrant scene? Love to see the works pictured in books or on postcards up close, with every little brush stroke or shade visible for your contemplation?  Then there’s nothing to do for it. You’ve got to travel.

Museums across the world will give you your fix of classic fine art. Since the fall of the Berlin Wall, Germany’s capital has become a capital of contemporary art as well. Tour the galleries, check out the architecture and visit the MuseumInsel (Museum Island), a complex of five museums and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Known for its modern architecture, Chicago is also home to the Art Institute and a lively arts scene. Those looking to travel off the beaten path could admire the beautiful landscape and unique light of Santa Fe, New Mexico, home of Georgia O’Keefe, a number of fine art galleries and an annual art fair.  Or visit San Miguel de Allende outside of Mexico City for its art colony and many art classes. And, of course, there are the traditional art meccas: New York, London, Florence and Paris. They never go out of style.
